The Courseafadfasdfasfdasdfasfd
Freshly renovated and re-opened in November 2022, the St. Johns Golf Club offers a singular golf experience. Architect Eric Larsen: Erik Larsen: American Society of Golf Course Architects | Larsengolf.net reimagined the course in the early 1900s classic design form of CB MacDonald and Seth Raynor. The course routing flows with long fairway lines, offering great visuals from the tee. Fairway bunkers are rectangular with flat bottoms and low, angular lips. The majority of the greens are rectangular, while others form alongside water. Green side bunkers are also rectangular with steeper faces, commonly referred to as “coffin bunkers”.
Unique design features along with strategically placed bunkers, large fairways, nine greens abutting water ensure a challenging experience rarely seen at a public golf course. Stunning vistas of water and wetlands abound, most notably the shots into the greens on the water.
Your game will be challenged by many of our template features:
- Thumb Print Green | hole 1 & 12
- Biarritz green | hole 2
- Cape | hole 5
- Redan green | hole 6
- Reverse Redan | hole 14
- Punch Bowl green | hole 15
Descriptions of these features: Template Holes - Evalu18 - Golf Design - CB Macdonald - Seth Raynor
During the renovation, the 9th and 18th greens were moved closer to the clubhouse and are visible from the back patio. The Putting Green and Driving Range are now just steps from the pro-shop, allowing greater access to the course amenities and increasing activity in and around the clubhouse.
For those looking to hone their golf skills, we have a 45,000 square foot grass driving range tee (mats at back of the range are used on a rotating schedule), 10,000 square foot putting green, and three chipping greens one with a practice bunker.
From the fully stocked pro-shop to knowledgeable PGA staff able to fit your next set of clubs, provide instruction or plan your special event, the St. Johns Golf Club offers something for all golfers. Play your next round with us and enjoy the state-of-the-art renovations.
