A new course record!

This past weekend (October 11-13), the 2019 St. Augustine Amateur brought an expert field of golfers from around the country to St. Johns Golf Club. Now in its 16th year, the tournament fosters fellowship and sportsmanship while raising funds for The First Tee of North Florida. Winner Ty Gingerich, a Freshman on the University of Cincinnati Golf Team, made it to his hotel in St. Augustine at 3:00 a.m. on Friday morning only to tee off at 9:18 a.m. off the back and shoot a course record round of 62 (on a course he had never seen!). He followed the course record with solid rounds of 67 and 71 to finish with a total of 200, also a new Tournament Record. Following his stellar junior career, Ty has competed in other amateur events in Florida including the First Coast Am.
