Golf Course Update | July 2022
Greetings All,
I hope you are having a great summer of travel, enjoying family time, and playing some great golf.
The golf course is moving along quite nicely, with holes 3-8 and 10-15 complete and in the grow-in stage. We also have grassed holes 1, 9, and 16, excluding the greens and the driving range. That leaves 2, 17, and 18 to complete the grassing. We have greens on 1, 2, 9, 16, 17, and 18 remaining to be completed, plus the practice putting green and three green complex in the short game area. We have been waiting on rock, and it is now scheduled to arrive in more significant quantities in the upcoming weeks.
We are also still waiting on the new pump station and transfer pump to finish the irrigation repairs. All new HDPE lines have been installed, control boxes have been set, and heads are now operational. We are still waiting on the system that will be integrated into the radio control units. This will provide a truly modern electrical system that can be operated without visiting each box to turn it on.
Cart paths have been completed around all 18 holes and the clubhouse area. We still have some wet areas on the old paths that we are addressing before we become operational this fall. Flow has been addressed for the reversing of nines and considering an occasional back nine start.
Drainage has been addressed, and new drains are functioning properly. The new drains have swattles around them to protect them from silting as the grass is established around them. The speed of recovery will improve once those are removed. We have had a few 1+” rains, and with the raising of fairways and improved drainage areas, we have recovered quickly after each event.
We have measured distances for each hole and feel we have a very good assortment of yardages from our 5 tee. Our Championship tee is 7,009 yards, our Match tee is 6,525 yards, our General tee is 5,952 yards, our Relief tee is 5,351 yards, and our Nearest tee is 4,804 yards. We continue to work on an assortment of blended tees with the idea of providing fun choices.

The clubhouse is coming along nicely, with flooring going down this week. We hope to have doors by mid-August to move back in and prepare to open the doors and see more of you in person.
We have a new logo to showcase the golf course’s Re-Establishment. We took parts of the old logo and worked to create something that was clean, simple, and memorable to identify the new golf course. The alligator was taken from our old logo and re-imagined to reflect those goals. It's a sleek design with a smaller footprint, and its versatility made it our top choice.
I would like to take this moment to acknowledge Bea Mauricio for obtaining her Class A status with the PGA of America.
Bea has worked hard to move through several parts of training and exams at an impressive pace. As those who know Bea, she is a dedicated, caring person who has elevated all parts of our operation. She has been instrumental with Tommy Aycock and I in the planning and preparation of our re-opening.
As always, thank you for your patience during the renovation of your home course. For the latest pictures please go to our FACEBOOK or Instagram. We post quite often.
Looking forward to seeing everyone soon!
Best regards,
Wes Tucker, PGA
